Well, Alan Wilson has added a new reply to the debate questions (funny that
http://www.kingarthur.fsnet.co.uk/letters/cdebate.htm
There is what appears to be a long diatribe against me (the American
"expert"). Judging by his reply to my debate questions, he did not read my
questions very well and likely did not understand many of them. On top of
that, he screws up about half of what I said.
If this letter from Wilson isn't enough to convince you that this guy is
wacko, I don't know what else is.

No response to this, wonder if it got out.

[I think the bit below is by Alan Wilson]
every archaeologist knows that around 1600 BC an
amazing new metal working civilization blossomed in Britain out of
"no-where" (actually out of Chaldea); (b) the equally massive Brutus
expedition from Trojan Asia Minor arrived in Britain circa 504 BC and again
archaeologists have to admit that a second great metal working culture and
civilization burst forth in Britain around 600-500 BC. T
This is simply ridiculous.
Starting with the easy one -- no archaeologist of my acquaintance or that I've
read takes this Brutus claim seriously, let alone 'every archaeologist'.
Nor is there a suggestion of amazing new civilizations (a term that doesn't
apply in Britain until the Roman period anyway) or cultures bursting forth.
The earliest true calendar date for metal tools in the British Isles is in
Ireland, by the way, dendro dated to 2268-51 bce.
There isn't a clear archaeological horizon marking a Bronze Age - Iron Age
transition either.
It is very hard to take Wilson seriously when he makes statements like this. I
said in another post you shouldn't expect academics to pay much attention to
W&B, and this is an example of why.
I've also cut out all the bit about Celts, but Wilson in quoting Collis, James,
etc. leaves out an extremely vital part of their argument, which is that there
were NO migrations of any size from the continent during the relevant period.
It really doesn't seem honest to me to quote their 'no Celts' statements without
pointing out that they are also saying 'no one else -- no Brutus, etc.'.

Dear Weller,
It will be better if you so-called academics will keep your opinions to yourselves unless your wages and pensions are paid forward to my flock of Brythonic experts. You repeat only that which you are permitted and you are evidently unable to have done what Mr. Wilson has done.

If you’re so smart, why are you replying to a message 17 years old?
