At last a movie that offers something more realistic about King
Arthur.

I have had my fair share of plate mailed knights, dragons and wizards
in Arthurian movies and now I get to see something based on reality.

King Arthur is a Roman leader, the last of the great Roman citizens of
ancient Britain before Roman civilization disappeared forever under
the barbarian hordes. It was in the 5th or 6th century that King
Arthur came from as a leader of Roman Cavalry from the Hadrians wall
area.

I cannot wait to see the movie.

The Arthurian legend comes from the North of England thanks to the
bards that kept his memory alive.

Which bards might you be referring to?

There were the historians Bede, Gildas, Nennius but there was also the
Bards. Most oral history amongst the ancient British was by word of
mouth as few could read. A special class of people existed called
Bards who served the purpose of keeping the histories alive. The
Bards had to have good memories and used symbolism and strict rules in
the memory of their many tales and poems. We can thank them that
Arthur is remembered today.
