I just picked up a used copy of Arthur Rex: A Legendary Novel by Thomas
Berger at a used bookstore. I'd never seen it before and wondered if
anyone had any comments about it.

P.S. The Arthurian booklist says:
Berger, Thomas, Arthur Rex. This retelling of the Arthur legend is
somewhat reminiscent of the movie "Excalibur" in feel.

It has a satirical edge that was rather lost on me when I first read it as
a teenager.
