Post by CaroleAnyone know any books wherein I can find info on her?
Bit of a nightmare this request, as various saints appear to be the Patron
of Scholars - Jerome and Brigid amongst them.........
[yes, for habituees of this NG, St Brigid of Kildare - the real, historical
one, c452 - 524, conrtemporary with the real historical A -ducks and runs -
see: http://www.americancatholic.org/Features/Saints/saint.asp?id=1514]
....and as for St C/Katherine, there seem to be more than just one of
them. The most likely appears to be St C/Katherine of Alexandria who is
listed in places as Patron of Scholars. John Capgrave wrote what appears
to be the first 'Life of St C/Katherine' - both spellings abound, but other
later books appear to have been written.
Try Google with the phrase "Life of St Katherine" +Alexandria and you
should get about 137 hits, most of which appera to be relevant, together
with a suggested search for "Life of St Catherine" +Alexandria, which gives
in excess of 200, with at least the first 30 giving various book titles.
Kind regards
